DAY 1  

Arrival in Accra

Team members will be waiting for you outside with Keynect Global Sign outside the airport. At the welcome orientation, we will cover itinerary, meet and greet with the group, and receive fitting for African print clothing (if ordered).

DAY 2  

Accra City Tour and James Town Night Tour

Explore the history and culture in Accra, the country’s capital city during the Accra City Tour. Here you will learn more about the origins of the city and prominent Ghanaian and African Diaspora leaders such as Kwame Nkrumah and WEB Dubois. You will also get a glimpse of the hustle and bustle of Makola Market, one of the largest markets in the country and participate in a ceremony at the Diaspora African Forum where you can honor past relatives by sponsoring their name on the Remembrance wall. In addition, join the night tour of Jamestown. Learn about the Ga tribe fishing and boxing community and experience how local Ghanaian dishes are made. Opportunity to dine with the locals*

DAY 3  

Batik African Fabric and Chocolate Making Tour

Indulge in a delightful chocolate-making workshop where you'll learn about the fascinating history of cocoa in Ghana. Discover the various stages of chocolate production, from harvesting cocoa pods to transforming them into the delectable treat loved worldwide. Later in the day, Unleash your creativity in a hands-on batik fabric-making session. Batik is a traditional art form where wax is used to create intricate patterns on cloth before dyeing.

DAY 4  

African Ancestral Wall Tour and Relax at C Resort

At the Ancestral Wall, a mural consisting of over 90 portraits of iconic leaders in Africa and her Diaspora. This wall was self-funded and constructed by a Los Angeles native where he was inspired to move to the country to share these heroic stories of our ancestors with students, visitors and locals. After the African Ancestral Wall, relax at the C Resort which has its own private sandy beach and calm coves.

DAY 5  

Cape Coast Slave Dungeon

Visit Assin Manso which was one of the largest slave markets for gathering people to sell into slavery during the infamous trans-Atlantic slave trade. Assin Manso served as the place where slaves had their last bath on their journey. Cape Coast Slave Dungeon is the place where they held slaves before they were loaded onto ships and sold in the Americas. This door of no return was the last stop before crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Given this will be a very emotional and thought provoking experience, we will have a debrief session over lunch to discuss and process the atrocities of those events. Stay overnight in Cape Coast.

Depart for Kumasi. Ashanti Kingdom Tour

This ceremonial event symbolizes the bestowing of a name upon an individual, often in the presence of family and community members. Indulge in a farewell dinner and reflect on the experiences you've explored in the motherland.
